Intellectually Frustrated

Riiiiight. So I've been a little removed from things for a while, but I'm back with lots to say.

First up: Working, in Whitecraigs Nursing Home as a Care Assisstant. It was what I was looking for, and although the pay is terrible, the experience is great, and the staff for the most part are genuinely friendly and supportive. There are (of course) a few exceptions, and although I'll no doubt get into that later, it's not important right now.

For those amongst you who wish to know what a Care Assisstant is/does, here goes. We're responsible for the non-nursing duties involved in maintaining the welfare and wellbeing of residents. In other words, dressing, washing, bathing, feeding, putting to bed etc. You get the general gist of things. Another way of putting it is that we're the ones who end the day smelling of urine and faeces. Yay!

Anyways. I do enjoy it - which is important at the best of times. And like I said, I'm learning shitloads including a variety of medically related things ranging from disorders of the elderly to the insertion of catheters

Anyways, on to nicer topics.
Less than a month til the holiday, and I'm so ready to go right now. Except from the fact I've not bought clothes yet, and don't even possess a suitable suitcase. Also, the tickets don't arrive for another couple of weeks. Still, when the time comes I will be more than ready.
Fancy doing some shopping tomorrow, am hopefully meeting Lesley and Shiv in town for a coffee and then a browse - Next Sale, I hear you cry! - although I'm not sure if poor Les can get the day off work yet. Spent two Saturdays ago in Carluke at the infamous G-Spot. It's not quite the Hamilton Palace, but it's getting there.

And in more recent news, Kate won Big Brother, which I was very happy about. Us Fishwives celebrated in style with chinese and a bottle of wine and then crashed out on Shiv's sofa bed. There's nothing like the feeling you get in the morning when Di's stolen all the covers.
